Hi, I’m Christian Senrud and I’m a writer based in Long Beach, CA. I am currently the voice of Vans Skateboarding on Instagram,

In writing you’re taught to avoid clichés, which is hard for me, because I am one.

I’m a big, fat, super talented, sharp witted, incredibly humble cliché.

You know that story of a small town kid who follows his dream, then it comes true? That’s me. How hack. Even the image of me packing up my car and leaving from my parents’ house in Pittsburgh to drive to California. Overdone. Uncreative. But that’s what happened, and somehow I landed a job at a skateboarding magazine where I got to interview my childhood heroes and live, breathe, and contribute to the history and culture of the thing I love so much.

I know, how unoriginal.

But somehow, 15 years later I’m still doing it. The magazine is long gone, but the friends and relationships I’ve made have helped me broaden my skills and continue to write for and work with great brands and clients to this day.

Nowadays, whenever I’m not thumbing away @VansSkate you can usually find me skateboarding with my cattle dog, Echo, camping, or performing stand-up comedy. I also host a monthly comedy and magic show at Bamboo Club in Long Beach every third Thursday.
